Capacity Building and Supply Chain Management Assistance in Guinea Bissau

Since November 2011 HERA is providing Capacity Building and Supply Chain Management Assistance to the Ministry of Health of Guinea Bissau with funding of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Under this contract, HERA provides technical support to CECOME (Central Medical Store of Guinea Bissau), to assist with the development of a 5 years strategic plan, and with the development and implementation of the 2012 operational plan.

From 30 January until 1 February 2012 a 3-day planning workshop was organized by HERA in close collaboration with CECOME. Using the results of the situation analysis presented by HERA on the first day, the workshop participants were asked to:

• Formulate objectives, indicators for M&E, assumptions, and key activities for the CECOME Strategic Plan 2012-2016;
• Identify 'Rapid Results' to be achieved during 2012, as part of CECOMEs operational plan
