Health systems

Weak health systems are one of the greatest barriers to ensuring access to essential health care in many developing countries. The challenge to building a strong health system is often dependent on strong policy, good governance, essential human resources, essential medicines, organisational structures, infrastructure, health information systems, logistics, effective financing and monitoring and evaluation.

In line with its mission to promote accessible, efficient and equitable health services and health systems, HERA assists its clients in developing health sector policies and strategies based on principles of cost-effectiveness, equity and sustainability.

HERA works on the basis of partnerships with governments, local authorities, multilateral and bilateral development agencies, non-governmental organisations and private or public institutions. We provide practical evidence-based solutions to improve access to affordable health care for all by building sustainable institutions, organisations, systems and human capacity.
