  • Giorgia is a public health professional with a strong interest in effective development cooperation, global health governance, health policy and health systems strengthening.
  • Giorgia completed a Master of Science in Public Health, Health Systems at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2012, with a focus on monitoring and evaluation, global health issues, access to health services, and human resources for health.
  • She has international and headquarter level working experience in global health, project management, maternal and child health, reproductive health, supply chain management and knowledge management, plus several research and volunteer experiences in a number of countries.
  • Giorgia has in-depth knowledge of EU global health policies and approaches. She started collaborating with hera in 2015 as a consultant for the Health Advisory Services (HAS) to the European Commission DG DEVCO, and in 2016 she joined its management team until the end of the project. As part of the HAS Consortium led by hera, Giorgia has been involved in a number of studies related to global health governance, appraisals of key EU partners including WHO and the Global Fund, and supported the development and management of an EU-UNICEF Partnership Dialogue in Health and Education.
  • Before joining hera, Giorgia has lived and worked in Ethiopia, Guatemala, Lesotho, Nicaragua and Peru. Her previous working experience includes working as a Reproductive Health Project Officer for UNFPA Lesotho, where she participated in a technical working group investigating and addressing issues in end-user distribution of reproductive health commodities throughout the country.
  • Giorgia is a native Italian speaker, and is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
