Review of health system strengthening program in the South-Kivu

Narrative description of project:
Since 2010, in accordance with the constitution of the country, the Congolese government has embarked on the reform of its administration, including that of the health sector, which is one of the decentralized sectors according to the provisions of the country’s constitution. This assignment sought to see the effective implementation of health sector reform at the provincial level for South Kivu. The findings of the review were appreciated by all stakeholders, as well as recommendations deemed relevant by the commissioner of the evaluation, SDC Switzerland.
Description of services provided:
The evaluation team conducted the following activities / tasks:
- document review; briefing with the commissioner; mission briefing for all health stakeholders in the province; data collection from all stakeholders through interviews and field missions; debriefing with the commissioner and implementing agencies; debriefing for all health actors in the province; development of the final report and of a technical note based on the results of PASS III to enable SDC to develop the content of PASS IV
