Financer:
DFID
Country:
South Sudan
Field of Expertise:
Health Service Delivery; PHC/MNCH/RH/Nutrition/W&S; Basic Health Services / Primary health care
Narrative description of project:
The UK funds the HPF, together with four other donors (Australia, Canada, Sweden and the European Union), to improve health outcomes in South Sudan. The HPF, led by DFID, is a 3 ½ years (October 2012 - April 2016) programme. The donors have shown willingness to fund a two-year cost extension of the programme from April 2016 to March 2018. DFID intends to revisit the design of the programme for HPF2 taking into account the experience and learning from HPF implementation, more recent global, regional and local evidence, as well as the new contextual realities in South Sudan.
