Narrative description of project:
The objective of the mission was to review the progress towards safe blood transfusion in Zambia.
The specific objectives were to:
  • To review project implementation, in relation with previous EDF support;

  • To assess the performance and future of the ZNBTS in meeting national needs for safe blood
  • In particular: the relationship of ZNBTS to the health reform process and its contribution to the National Health Strategy, MoH/ZNBTS' plans for sustainability of the safe blood programme

  • To make recommendations as appropriate in all areas studied
Description of services provided:

  • Review of the project implementation, in relation with previous EDF support

  • Assessment of the performance and future of the ZNBTS in meeting national needs for safe blood

  • Programme review, supported by the logical framework

  • Recommendations and conclusions
