Narrative description of project:
The Three Millennium Development Goal Fund (3MDG) managed by UNOPS is a multi‐donor health fund established in Myanmar in 2012 with a value of US$271 million. 3MDG Fund supports the provision of health services in Myanmar and contributes towards the country’s efforts to achieve the three-health related Millennium Development Goals. These goals include reducing child mortality, improving maternal health and combating HIV, tuberculosis and malaria. Importantly, 3MDG provides support to the Ministry of Health to build a more effective and responsive health system. The 3MDG Fund is being extended for 2018 with some additional funding. hera was contracted by UNOPS for a review of evidence on the effectiveness of community based health programmes in Myanmar, Yangon.
