The Centre of Excellence for Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) systems was created with Canadian funding based on a recommendation from the UN Commission on Information and Accountability for MNCH.
Investment in building national civil registration systems should help generate essential health systems planning data in real time.
CRVS systems strengthening is a key component of the Global Financing Facility administered by the World Bank, and initiatives to strengthen CRVS systems are encouraged to be included in the country investment case proposals to the GFF.
