The main objective was to review the progress of the KEDAHR project including: Assessment of the quality and sustainability of the research capacity build, the quality and appropriateness of the project management and the project compliance with Danida development aid principles in Kenya in the current and in other optional organisational context. Appraisal of the KEDAHR phase III proposal.
The team visited local research institutions, direct partners, researchers and former students involved in the project. In addition, the team met with the 'management' of the universities and the Danish Embassy, CTA (Chief Technical Adviser) and partners within the Danish supported Health Programme. Furthermore, the team visited field investigation sites and research stations.
The review appraisal was based on interviews, discussions, scrutinising of relevant documents and materials covering:
- KEDAHR networking/ interdisciplinary approach
- Research activities/ output
- The project management
- The Danida context
