Narrative description of project:
The Ministry of Health launched a Health Sector Reform Project (HSRP). This programme aimed at organising the health services towards all families being financed by health insurance (compulsory and complementary health insurance). A pilot model of health services was tested in five Governorates, including both purchasers and provider organisations. Reform of the present health insurance scheme with the development of sustainable financing strategies as key elements of the reform.
Description of services provided:
Regular monitoring of the reform process through bi-annual evaluations providing advice to the Minister of Health on the reform strategies and implementation.
