Narrative description of project:
The purpose of the consultancy was to prepare a presentation in collaboration with officials from the Ministries of Health in Tanzania and Uganda, backed up with a concise issues paper to be used as part of the meeting documentation. The goals was to raise the level of debate surrounding health-related MDGs to ensure that they are adequately represented in both agency and government planning and to harmonize donor support in the health sector. The presentation highlighted key issues arising from the practical experience of managing different forms of donor financing for health in the two countries.
Description of services provided:
Our expert held interviews and brainstorming sessions with government officers, stakeholders and development partners in both countries; wrote up an issue paper (presented at the HLF 2003) and developed a presentation.
