Mid-term review of the DFID national health programme in Nepal
Financer:
DFID
Country:
Nepal
Field of Expertise:
Health Policy and Governance; Policy, Governance, System; Health Sector Review / Health Sector Diagnosis / health sector performance
Narrative description of project:
Mid-term review of the National Health Sector Programme 2 (2010-2015) supported by “pooled EDPs” (DFID, AUSAID, GAVI, WB, KfW: Pool Fund) and non-pooled EDPs (among which some EDPs are JFA signatories). NHSP 2 is focussing on Essential Health Care Services (EHCS), on good governance and on cross-cutting issues (Poor, Gender, Ethnics, etc.). Part of the assignment was to update the value of the M&E indicators. Nepal is (almost) on track for MDGs 4, 5 and 6 but it is not clear whether this is due to the NHSP or other factors like migration (and remittances), huge improvement of the level of education of women, etc.
