Narrative description of project:
This evaluation covered the activities of the Healthy Entrepreneurs program in the province of South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as in Burundi and Rwanda. The aim of the evaluation was to assess the added value of the interventions by Healthy Entrepreneurs through a study of the output and outcome results, challenges and lessons learned. Healthy Entrepreneurs was sub-contracted by a consortium led by Cordaid. The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs funded the Making SRH Services work for the Next Generation programme 2013-2015 and the 5-year Jeune S3 2016-2020.
Description of services provided:
hera was contracted by Cordaid to carry out the final evaluation. The methodology applied was adesk review of available documentation related to the project, and within a broader context of Sexual and Reproductive Health Services in the Great Lakes Region. In addition, hera consultants visited Cordaid and Healthy Entrepreneurs in the Netherlands as well as in the province of South Kivu (DRC) and also visited some of the intervention sites. A draft evaluation report was presented to both Cordaid and Healthy Entrepreneurs, and after a round of comments and feedback, the final report was submitted to Cordaid.
