Narrative description of project:
The overall objective of the Health, Population and Nutrition Sector Development Program (HPNSDP) 2011-2016 of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) of the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh is to improve access to and utilization of preventive and curative health, population and nutrition services in rural and rapidly growing urban areas.

To support implementation of HPNSDP, technical assistance (TA) to MOHFW is provided with support from participating development partners. A specific request for TA was jointly identified with the objective to:
- Undertake an institutional and organisational assessment of the Central Medical Stores Depot’s (CMSD), aimed at assessing whether existing manpower strength, policies, practices and procedures, available human and financial resources and organisational structure are adequate to perform envisioned role and functions
- Recommend an appropriate organogram so that it can perform as a full-fledged procurement and supply chain management entity effectively.
