Narrative description of project:
In 2011, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the Global Fund conducted diagnostic reviews of grants for the response to Tuberculosis and HIV in Peru and Cuba, involving comprehensive risk-based assessments of programme management and implementation, and the formulation of recommendations for the mitigation of potential risks.
Description of services provided:
Two hera specialists in public health, M&E, and procurement and supply-chain management joined the team of financial auditors contracted by the OIG to review the programmatic aspects, monitoring systems, and commodity and medicine supply systems for HIV and tuberculosis programmes supported by the Global Fund in both countries. The findings were communicated in a special session of the Country Coordinating Mechanism in each country, and are integrated in the OIG report to the Board of the Global Fund.
