Narrative description of project:
In 2012, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the Global Fund conducted diagnostic reviews of grants for the response to Malaria, Tuberculosis and HIV in Eritrea, involving a comprehensive risk-based assessment of programme management and implementation, and the formulation of recommendations for the mitigation of potential risks.
Description of services provided:
Three hera specialists in public health, M&E, and procurement and supply-chain management joined the team of financial auditors contracted by the OIG to review the programmatic aspects, monitoring systems, and commodity and medicine supply systems for HIV, tuberculosis and malaria programmes supported by the Global Fund. The findings were communicated in a special session of the Country Coordinating Mechanism of Eritrea, and are integrated in the OIG report to the Board of the Global Fund.
