The Access to Family Planning Commodities in Nigeria Programme is a DFID funded project aiming to support the equivalent of 1 million Nigerian couples with modern family planning each year for 6 years (2011/12- 2016/207). United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) through MOU with DFID manages the funds, and carries out procurement of commodities and capacity building. The fund is a contribution to a basket fund for family planning commodities procurement with other donors, Government of Nigeria and UNFPA. A joint donor, CSOs and government procurement and management committee chaired by the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) provides an oversight on procurement and distribution of family planning commodities.
