Narrative description of project:

In 2015, the Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) adopted a policy of outsourcing to a third-party provider the distribution of medicines and medical supplies from its three regional warehouses to health facilities across Malawi. CMST has commenced an initial period of implementing this distribution arrangement through a single sourced contract with a third-party logistics provider from January to June 2016. It intends to extend this arrangement via a competitive bidding process for a further two or three-year period. Specific Technical Assistance (TA) was requested to support the drafting of the bidding document for CMST to effectively conduct an appropriate tender.
