Narrative description of project:
The Health Sector Strategic Plan III (HSSP III)1 is the cross cutting strategic plan for the health sector of Tanzania for the period July 2009 - June 2015. It provides an overview of the priority strategic directions across the health sector, and is in turn guided by the National Health Policy, Vision 2025, the National Strategy for Growth and Reduction of Poverty Reduction (MKUKUTA) and the Millennium Development Goals. HSSP III serves as the sector's comprehensive national plan and guiding framework for the detailed planning and implementation of health sector activities by all levels and partners. The Mid Term Review (MTR) of the HSSP III, aimed at GoT, Development Partners (DPs), and relevant stakeholders, was to guide further implementation of HSSP III and future design of HSSP IV.
