Narrative description of project:
In 2012, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) of the Global Fund conducted a diagnostic review of programmes implemented with funding of four Global Fund HIV grants, one tuberculosis grant and one malaria grant in Thailand for a total grant amount of 116 million US$. The review involved a comprehensive risk-based assessment of programme management and implementation, and the formulation of recommendations for the mitigation of potential risks.
Description of services provided:
Two hera specialists in public health, M&E, and procurement and supply-chain management joined the team of financial auditors contracted by the OIG to review the programmatic aspects, monitoring systems, and commodity and medicine supply systems. The findings were communicated in a special session of the Country Coordinating Mechanism, and are integrated in the OIG report to the Board of the Global Fund.
