We are happy to announce that after many years of collaboration with hera as a consultant, Mr. Ronald Horstman has joined hera as a new partner.
Ronald is a senior international advisor, team leader, researcher, and change manager in (public) health and social systems, supporting development agencies and governments mainly in low- and middle-income countries. He brings with him 30 years of experience in research (demography, health economics, sociology) and designing and evaluating health programs and systems (demographic dividend, (health) sector-wide approaches and reforms, (non)routine data collections systems in health and demography, results-based financing, public and private health care, reproductive and adolescent health, HIV/AIDS programs), and a profound understanding of global evaluation standards, theories, models and methods. He is particularly interested in working on health policies and strategies as well as results-based planning and management that is actively supported by evidence-based decision making and a participatory development approach.
Ronald obtained his master’s degree in demography and statistics at the Population Research Centre, University of Groningen (Netherlands). During his professional career, he has worked for United Nations organisations (UNICEF, UNFPA, UNDP, UNAIDS, WHO), the World Bank, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI). Since 2007 he has been working as an international consultant at Public Health Consultants Netherlands. He has work experience in Albania, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China (long term), Ethiopia, Gambia, Guyana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Kosovo, Laos, Mongolia (long term), Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Sudan, Sudan, Surinam, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
