This section contains a selection of articles authored by hera partners as well as featured hera project reports, program evaluations, and assessments published in connection with our development activities.
The learning evaluation accompanied the implementation of the research projects funded under the SEARCH program for a period of two years to generate lessons about what can be achieved by networking among the research teams. The evaluation focused on the program level, i.e. on the portfolio of projects and the outcomes achieved through interactions and interchanges among them. The evaluation of the RAcE Initiative was conducted by the hera team of Alice Behrendt, Josef Decosas, Marieke Devillé and Ingeborg Jille-Traas on behalf of the WHO Evaluation Office, supported by Abdon Mukalay in the DRC, John Phuka in Malawi, Sandra Manuel in Mozambique, Mahamane Karki in Niger, and Vivian Shaahu in Nigeria. Quality assurance for the evaluation was provided by Leo Devillé. The team visited all six RAcE programmes, prepared five-country briefs, and consolidated the findings in a summative evaluation report.
The 2016 monitoring round tracked eight effective development cooperation practices in the health sector using indicators for both governments and for development partners. The main findings of the 2016 monitoring round fed into the UHC2030 Global Monitoring Report, together with the ongoing performance review of development partners.
The monitoring results from 30 countries can be found on the UHC2030 website. Each country page has a report, a scorecard of results, a powerpoint presentation with key findings and a short story about the multi-stakeholder event.
The study of universal health coverage for sexual and reproductive health in the Asia-Pacific Region was undertaken by hera under contract by the United Nations Population Fund Asia and Pacific Regional Office. The study reviewed the progress of six countries of the Asia-Pacific region (Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Thailand and Viet Nam) towards the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 3.7 and 3.8.
