Giorgia Lattanzi, MSPH Health Systems, MA International Development and Cooperation, BA International relations

  • Giorgia is a public health expert with long-standing experience in global health and international affairs. Since 2009, she has been focusing on MNCH, sexual and reproductive health and rights, systems strengthening, and global health governance, and has participated in several strategy development and prioritisation processes, both at national and global levels. Giorgia also has a strong interest inprogramming across fragile and conflict-affected contexts, as well as in knowledge translation.

  • She holds an MSc in Public Health (Health Systems) from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Master's in International Development and Cooperation from the University of Bologna, Italy. 

  • Giorgia has been collborating with hera since 2015, becoming associate in 2019 and hera Partner in 2024. Between 2015 and 2020, she served as an embedded technical advisor to the European Commission DG INTPA (Health Advisory Service, then HISP, led by hera), supporting EU policy and programming on global health governance, effective development cooperation, EU-UN relations, and high-level EU planning and prioritisation processes. In this role she engaged regularly with senior EU officials, Member State representatives, and counterparts from multiple international organisations.

  • Across her career, Giorgia has participated in a wide range of programme and organisational evaluations and appraisals, applying mixed methods and qualitative approaches, and translating findings into practical recommendations for donors and policymakers. She is well versed in qualitative data collection and co-creation processes across headquarters, regional, and country levels, including by involving youth, patients and communities. Clients and partners include the European Commission, Norad, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, UNIFEM, the Global Fund, MSF, PSI, IPPF, and Health Systems Global.

  • Before joining hera, Giorgia worked as a Reproductive Health and HIV Prevention Project Officer for UNFPA in Lesotho, where she provided technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and participated in a technical working group on end-user distribution of reproductive health commodities. She also worked as an MCH and WASH Programme Manager with an NGO in Guatemala.

  • Giorgia has field and remote experience across more than 25 countries, including DRC, Ethiopia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Lebanon, Palestine, Tunisia, Yemen, Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Peru, and Ukraine.

  • She is a native Italian speaker and is fluent in English, Spanish, and French, with reading proficiency in Portuguese.
