Michèle Kosremelli Asmar (PhD, MSc)

Michèle Kosremelli Asmar (PhD, MSc), qualitative research expert, is Associate Professor at Saint Joseph University of Beirut, Lebanon, since 1994. She is also Director of the Higher Institute of Public Health (ISSP) since 2016. Dr. Asmar was a consultant in the Lebanese Health Sector reform project funded by the World Bank and she is a proven project leader in public health research and evaluation. She began working with hera as a consultant in 2019 and became a partner in 2022.

Dr Asmar holds a Ph.D. in Management (health field) from Paris Dauphine University and a master's degree in Health Administration from the University of Montreal, and a postgraduate degree in Institutional Management-Health Care from the University of Concordia, Canada. Her recent publications focus on public health, health systems and health systems data, inter-professional collaboration and coordination, disability and inclusive health management, quality and accreditation, technology and health, health care, human resources, health economics.

Dr Asmar also sits on a number of scientific organizations and committees and several national and international scientific journals and conference Boards. She is also the founder and president of the NGO “Include”, which promotes the inclusion of children, youth and adults with special needs in Lebanese society. She is fluent in Arabic, French and English.
