hera to support Health Systems Global in developing a new 5-year strategic plan

A hera team, led by CEO Leen Jille and Associate Partner Giorgia Lattanzi, has been selected to support Health Systems Global (HSG) in developing its next 5-Year Strategic plan covering 2021-2026. The aim is to develop a strategic framework that continues to position HSG at “the forefront of health systems policy and research within the changing landscape of global health.”

Founded in 2012, Health Systems Global is a well-recognised international membership-driven organisation focused on promoting health policy and systems research (HPSR) and knowledge generation. Its flagship event, the Global Symposium on Health Systems Research (HSR), is held every two years and attracts thousands of participants from all over the globe. The next HSR symposium will be in Bogotá, Colombia, from October 31 – to November 4, 2022. The theme in 2022 is “Health Systems Performance in the Political Agenda: Sharing lessons for current and future global challenges”.

The new 5-year strategic planning process will be led by the HSG Board Strategic Planning Working Group (SPWG), facilitated by the HSG Secretariat with hera’s support. hera will support HSG in developing an inclusive, participatory, and consultative 5-year Strategic Plan. The hera team brings to the project a solid understanding of global health trends, processes, and governance, as well as longstanding experience in collecting and incorporating (qualitative and quantitative) data and feedback across organisational structures and governance levels. The team is also well versed in leading strategic processes in a vast range of countries, languages and professional environments. The hera team plans to build on the strengths and successes of HSG, reflecting the broad and diverse membership, and HSG's goal of increasing the capacity and prominence of new and emerging voices in the field of Health Policy and Systems Research.

Stay tuned for updates from HSG and for opportunities to help shape the next five years of HSG.
