SADC Feasibility Study on Regional Manufacturing of Medicines and Health Commodities
hera conducted a feasibility study on the production of essential medicines and accompanying/related health commodities for the three communicable diseases – HIV and AIDS, TB and Malaria;
hera proposed a strategy/modality to operationalize the Regional production of medicines and
related/accompanying commodities in the SADC region, including the standards to be adhered to, based on current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
hera facilitated dissemination workshops to (1) validate the feasibility study and (2) build consensus on the modality (strategy, mechanisms and standards) for operationalizing production.
